Township Voting
Township Voting
Township Voting is the primary civic system that lets players influence their Alliance’s economy, taxes, contests, and leadership approval. Every citizen of a Township can vote once per week, helping shape the policies and bonuses that affect all members of their Alliance.
Overview
Each week during the Weekly Reset, players can cast votes on four major policy decisions:
- Tax Rate
- Economic Policy
- Weekly Contest
- Governor Approval
Votes are tallied automatically at the next weekly reset, and results immediately impact Alliance-wide systems such as buffs and resource generation.
How to Vote
- Players must be a citizen of a Township that is part of an Alliance.
- Each player gets one vote per week across all accounts (maximum of three allowed per person).
- Votes can be changed freely before the next reset.
- A quick-vote option allows you to re-cast the same selections as the previous week (except contests).

🪙 Tax Rate
Taxes apply whenever players make purchases from NPC vendors. The tax from your purchase goes directly into that Township’s Alliance Gold Coffer — even if you belong to a different Alliance.
Example:
- If you are a member of the Yew Rebellion but make a purchase in Minoc, you pay Minoc Federation Taxes, and that gold contributes to the Minoc Federation’s coffers.
Available Tax Rates
| Option | Rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Low | 5% | Encourages spending and commerce |
| Medium | 15% | Balanced for moderate growth |
| High | 25% | Maximizes gold income for Alliance coffers |
---
📊 Economic Policy
Economic Policies determine which Weekly Alliance Buff is prioritized for the week. The chosen buff receives more gold from the coffers and therefore grows faster than the other two.
| Policy | Primary Buff | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Crafter’s Policy | Crafting Zone Skill Gain | Increases skill gains in crafting zones within each Township. |
| Hunter’s Policy | Dungeon Buffs | Increases XP, gold, and loot in the Alliance’s assigned weekly dungeons. |
| Merchant Policy | Vendor Stock | Improves NPC vendor restock rates and item availability. |
---
🏆 Weekly Contests
Each week, citizens also vote on which special Weekly Contest will run for their Alliance. Three random contest options are available each week — examples include:
- Fishing Contest
- Dungeon Kill Count
- Treasure Map Turn-Ins
- Resource Gathering
- Merchant Sales
Contest options rotate weekly. Players can vote to favor one type of event or let the system choose randomly based on player participation.
---
🏛️ Governor Approval
Citizens can vote Yes or No to approve or disapprove of their current Alliance Governor.
- A Governor with an approval rating below 20% for two consecutive weeks triggers an Emergency Election.
- Approval votes help track citizen satisfaction and influence future election results.
- If no Governor is in office, the system defaults to pure democracy — citizen votes alone determine policies.
---
Voting Results
Weekly voting results determine:
- Alliance Gold Coffer distribution (affecting Weekly Buff growth)
- Priority Buff choice via Economic Policy
- Alliance-wide contests
- Governor approval rating
All players receive a summary notification after each Weekly Reset.
