Beta Patch 2.5.5

-Followers and Mounts-

Dying No Longer Costs You a Follower Slot
  1. The figure of Death that appears when you die was being counted as one of your followers, and the slot was never handed back.
  2. Every death you took quietly used up another slot for the rest of the server session. Enough deaths and you could no longer command a pet, tame anything, or summon an ethereal mount, with nothing on screen explaining why.
  3. Death now costs nothing at all. Any slots already lost this way are returned the next time the world loads, so nobody has to log a ticket to get them back.

Summoning an Ethereal Mount
  1. Ethereal mounts do not take up follower slots, but the summon was still being refused whenever you happened to be over your follower limit.
  2. That can happen on its own, without you doing anything, whenever your maximum drops. A buff running out or a talisman expiring was enough to leave you unable to call your mount.
  3. A mount that costs no slots is no longer measured against the limit at all.

-Talk Quests-

Who You Are Actually Meant to Find
  1. A quest that sends you to speak with someone now names that person in your quest log and in the tracker, instead of leaving you to work it out.
  2. Only the person named will satisfy the objective. Speaking to anyone else involved in the quest, including whoever handed it to you, no longer counts.
  3. The objective now genuinely waits until you have made the journey. Previously some of these quests counted themselves done the moment you accepted them.

Handing the Quest Back In
  1. When a quest names someone to report back to, only that person will take it. You can no longer finish the journey by turning straight back around to the one who sent you.
  2. The wrong contact now shows the quest as still in progress rather than offering to complete it, so the marker above their head agrees with what they will actually do.
  3. Standing in front of the right person still works exactly as before.

-Skill Quests-

Your Real Skill Now Counts
  1. A quest asking you to reach a skill level now reads the skill you actually have, however you came by it.
  2. Training at a vendor counts. Previously only the points you earned by using the skill yourself were noticed, so an afternoon of vendor training moved your skill and left the quest sitting at zero.
  3. If you already meet the requirement when you take the quest, it is satisfied straight away instead of asking you to earn the whole amount again.
  4. Quests can also ask you to gain a number of skill points from where you stand today, which is a separate thing and is counted separately.

Written the Way Skills Are
  1. Skill objectives now read in skill points, so a healing task shows as 45.0 of 50.0 rather than 450 of 500.

-New item: Reagent Satchel (Test Center Only Item)-

Your Real Skill Now Counts
  1. Keeps itself stocked with 10 of each of the 8 standard reagents.
  2. Cannot be opened, and nothing can be put into it.
  3. Fills the moment it is made, again when it is picked up, and tops up every 10 seconds after that
  4. Only ticks while somebody is actually carrying it. Sitting in a chest, a bank box or on the ground it does nothing at all.
  5. Blessed.
